Four steps to incredible art

Curious what your portrait experience may look like?

Read on to learn more.

Step 1: Discovery Call

This call can last anywhere from 20-50 minutes and it's the first time we speak. I'll ask you questions about what you're looking for, how you feel about yourself in camera, your family, hobbies, and more. From these questions, I'll share some ideas that may work for your unique session.

We'll also discuss products, price ranges, and available dates. By the end of this call, if we both feel this is a good fit, we'll move forward with booking. Only the creative fee (aka: session fee) is required at this time.

Step 2: In-Home Design Consultation

This meeting typically takes 1.5-2 hours and our object is to finalize logistics. Where will your portrait session be? What outfits should you wear? What do they say and which are the most flattering? Together we'll look at inspiration and create a vision board.

At this time, we'll also talk products. While I do sell high-res digital files, my focus is on the printed portrait. You'll be introduced to my the Heirloom Album, Story Box Prints, and framed Wall Art. Decision aren't made to the end, but education and transparency is key! By the end of this meeting, I want you to feel prepared and calm.

Step 3: The Portrait Session

The average portrait session is 3 hours. I come prepared and will bring all equipment necessary (lights, backdrops, etc) to accomplish your portrait dreams. I offer private, in-studio sessions, as well as on-location sessions. Depending on what I need to create your portraits, I may have an assistant with me.

Step 4: The Big Reveal

This meeting has been known to last from 30 minutes to 3 hours. Probably the most unique meeting of them all. Each Reveal starts with a slideshow, giving you the chance to see the portraits for the first time.

After the slideshow, we'll check in with how you're feeling; make sure I accomplished your goals; and reconfirm your budget. From there, we will begin organizing your entire collection: "Love" and "Maybe later".

We'll discuss how you'd like to enjoy these portraits: with individual prints, in an album that can tell the full story, or with wall art that takes center stage of your home. Each order is 100% unique to each client and very personal.

All products are delivered to me directly from my print labs. (More on that here). Once your order is fulfilled, I'll hand deliver them to you. All wall art is professionally installed before I leave your home.

What are other people saying?

"Sarah was absolutely the best to work with. My husband & I have had professional photos taken before; but Sarah went way above all of our expectations. Her work is exceptional, but her unique & vibrant personality brings out everyone’s smile & lightens the air in the room which makes everyone come to life in their photos." -Melissa Hagen
